Have you heard about the ruling on being openly gay in the military?

So here it is, the big reveal on how I feel about gays in the military. I think that the Air Force is the perfect opportunity for homosexuals to thrive. Why? I have been on a ship (see my profile) where there was one gay male who was coming out of the closet. This caused enough discomfort to the rest of the crew that had to live in the same space, myself included, that eventually this guy did everything he could, including grabbing other mens genitals while they were asleep, to get off the ship. Lo and behold, he was coming out, and his wife and kids had no clue. Because he assualted more than 4 crew members, he was ultimately released from the Navy on that charge, and not the "Don't ask, Don't tell" policy.

I think the opportunity should be limited to the Air Force because, other than the initial phase of that career, they don't have to live in such a confined space like they would in the Army, Marines, and Navy. I am not against homosexuality. Just don't impose it upon me or my shipmates. Just to make it even more clear, I have relatives and brothers that are gay and I still treat them just like I treat my heterosexual friends and family. There is just no room for discomfort on a ship or in the field and the last thing anyone needs to be thinking about is "Is that guy checking me out while I'm showering and getting dressed?" This is especially true in such a tight space like a ship.

A little note on the ex-sailor, the captain of the ship made him call his family and tell them why he was being discharged from the Navy, in front of an open mast. Embarrassing.
